Fashion Pakistan Week 2014: Aamna Aqeel

Trends: Feminine and flirty were the words that instantly came to mind seeing Aamna Aqeel's 2014 collection. Vibrant bursts of colour, flowing material and flattering cuts were the order of the day as the designer walked us through her inspiration: the colours of nature. The collection was young, fresh and playful at the same time, with a pallette that emulated the crispness of Spring. Embellished with crystals, stones and pearls, the catwalk was dominated by the use of chiffons, crepe silks and laces.

Looking absolutely ravishing in red, TV star Sarwat Gilani stole the show in a vibrant floor-length dress, with crystal embellishments, that sparkled at every step. With models sporting crystals on their eyebrows and channelling a devil-may-care attitude, there was a fun energy throughout the show.

Although a relative newcomer to the Pakistani fashion scene, (having established her label in 2010), Aamna is fast emerging as a designer catering to women who are confident, self-assured and celebrate their femininity.
